‘Metro’ Bigfoot in Chico, CA:

Hello Sir – I found you through a Google search. I also contacted someone local but they never got back to me. Maybe you can explain what I witnessed.

For as many cool things there are in California – Disneyland, San Francisco, and Yosemite to name a few – we are woefully short on my favorite branch of the paranormal world: cryptids.  Cryptids are described as animals whose existence is only theorized, but never proven by science.  Bigfoot, mothman, the chupacabra, and the Loch Ness Monster all fall under this definition.  Search results for California cryptids turn up the same names over and over again – Tahoe Tessie, the Ghost Deer, and the Lone Pine Mountain Devil (which sounds like something I would have conjured up in the 5th grade) – but only two have really made waves on the paranormal spectrum.

Bigfoot of Bluff Creek

California’s claim to cryptid fame came in 1967, when Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin captured on film a tall, upright ape-like creature taking a stroll along a river bank at Bluff Creek in Humboldt county.  Though the film has been picked apart and scrutinized in every way possible, it is still regarded as some of the best evidence proving bigfoot’s existence to this day.  Though bigfoot/sasquatch sightings are more common in Oregon and Washington, California still has a long standing history of hikers coming across huge, mysterious footprints in the ground, massive shadows lurking between trees, and eerie howls echoing off the surrounding hills by night.

Fresno Nightcrawler

A much more recent and by far more bizarre creature spotted only in California is the Fresno Nightcrawler.  At first glance they can only be described as a pair of white pants walking on their own: their legs are long and tapered, topped by a short, stalk-like body with no arms and no discernable head or face.  Some claim that they are aliens, earning them the alternate name “Fresno Aliens.”  Some local Native American legends say they are benevolent spirits, come to heal the rift between man and nature.  But whether they are alien or spirit or some unexplained animal, there are only ever been two known sightings of these strange creatures.  The first was in 2007, when a homeowner in Fresno caught two of them strolling across his lawn at night on his security camera.  The second and last signing was in Yosemite in 2011, when another security camera caught another pair ambling up a deserted road, also at night.  What makes the videos even more intriguing is that no one has been able to debunk them as a hoax and are grudgingly accepted as legitimate, though it offers no other explanation of what their true identity may be.

Couple Captures Video of a Sasquatch in California.

While staying at a cabin in Truckee, California, a couple captured footage of what they believe shows a Sasquatch. According to the couple, the incident occurred in July of 2013.

In the video, a large humanoid figure can be seen pulling branches off of a tree. The creature then begins to walk away and notices the couple, who then flee in terror.

The couple says they were too afraid to upload the footage online or send it to someone. However, they both decided to submitted their footage to the YouTube channel “The Paranormal Review” after the channel featured a Bigfoot video captured by a man who says he was initially too afraid to show anyone else the footage out of fear of being ridiculed.

Many of those who have expressed skepticism believe the creature was nothing more than a person in a costume. Personally, I have to agree that this most-likely is just another hoax. However, we never get a clear shot of the creature, so it’s nearly impossible to say for sure just what exactly this figure was.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on this footage. Do you think it shows an actual Sasquatch? Or might this simply be another hoax?

Multiple UFO Sighting Filmed Over Los Angeles – 16th February 2018

A California witness at Marina reported glowing triangles they watched disappear followed by “a string of gray orbs” about 100 feet overhead and the size of yoga balls, according to testimony in Case 89327 from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The witness and her sister were driving home from Monterey along Highway 1 near Marina at 6:40 p.m. on January 3, 2018.

“A red and blue flashing light appeared high up in the sky, moving toward a small glowing patch of yellow sky,” the witness reported. “It was around 6:40 p.m., and the rest of the sky was dark. The light flashed red and blue, moving steadily toward the glowing triangle, and once they met, the flashing light disappeared. Shortly thereafter, another flashing light appeared from around 30-degrees from the horizon, moved in the same way, and disappeared after a few seconds. The same thing happened again. A few minutes later, my sister and I were both startled by a steady lead-colored orb which appeared to be the size of a basketball hovering near us, perhaps around the height of a telephone pole. When we moved our gaze slightly to the left, we saw another one, and realized that we could see about seven lead-colored orbs seemingly strung together getting farther off into the distance. We lost sight of these as we continued driving, constructing our perception that they were stationary.”

California MUFON Field Investigator Jerry Gerow closed this case as an Unknown-Other.
