Mexico: UFOs of the 1960s By Scott Corrales [Excerpt from “Forbidden Mexico”, Institute of Hispanic Ufology Press, 1999]
In spite of the considerable number of UFO sightings during this time period, it wasn’t until the following decade that the UFO phenomenon would add itself to the other events which stirred the national consciousness, such as increased political radicalism among the young, the massacre of innocents at Tlatelolco in 1968 and the troubled ‘68 Olympics – events which mirrored similar developments in France and in the United States.
One of the most impressive photographs of a UFO during this period was the 1965 snapshot taken by Juan David Mateos. According to the photographer’s testimony, he was driving along the road from Villa Ahumada to Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, when he saw a dark, oval shaped craft approaching at an altitude of less than twenty meters and a distance of only sixty meters. Mateos stopped the car and clicked away at the unknown object, earning himself a place in saucer history.
Peruvian Film Crew Captures Video of an Mysterious Flying Object?
While shooting for an upcoming TV show called “Alto al crimen”, Renzo Reggiardo and his film crew captured this video of a unidentified purple saucer hovering off in the distance in Miraflores, Lima, Peru. Renzo, a Congressman, and his crew had just begun filming at around 10:30 a.m. when the cameraman became distracted by the mysterious craft. Momentarily postponing the shoot, the entire crew went get a better look at the craft and capture video of it.
Some have expressed skepticism over the video, theorizing the UFO is just a CGI effect. When watching the video, I too couldn’t help but feel there was something off about this video, but I don’t know if it’s because the video is fake. It’s possible that, if this video is indeed a hoax, it was created to drum up publicity and interest for the show the film crew was shooting. However, there are those who would like to think that this video isn’t fake, especially since a Congressman is involved.
Personally, I’m not sure what to make of this video. On the surface, it doesn’t appear to be a hoax, but I did notice that at around 0:39 mark, the UFO seems to just appear out of thin air as the cameraman zooms in on the area of where it was in the sky. However, I still can’t say for sure if it’s fake or not. I’m interested to hear your thoughts on this footage. Is this a real extraterrestrial aircraft? Could it have been a known aircraft/drone? Or was this video doctored?

A UFO hunter claims that recent footage showing a fleet of bright orb UFOs swarming around Mexico’s active Popocatepetl volcano is probably the most convincing UFO footage that has emerged in recent times.
According to UFO Sightings Daily’s Scott C. Waring, footage showing and eruption of Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano, captured by Webcams de Mexico at 12:12 a.m. local time on June 19, also shows a fleet of bright orb UFOs swarming around the volcano. Webcams de Mexico is a network of live cameras that monitor Mexico’s major active volcanoes, including Popocatepetl and Colima.
“I have been watching this volcano for over five years and have caught a few UFOs here and there,” Waring wrote a June 24, 2016 blog update, “but this is the most extraordinary video from the live Mexico volcano cam that I have ever seen.” “Here we see over ten of them flying around,” he continues.
“I believe the only reason these UFOs can be seen is that at this moment, the camera had on its infrared mode, which means it can see things the human eye cannot.” “This is the most extraordinary [UFO] video from the live Mexico volcano cam that I have ever seen… ten of them flying around.”
However, a UFO investigator has dismissed the claim that the footage shows UFOs flying around the active volcano.
Scott Brando, who manages the website Ufoofinterest, which investigates sighting claims by online UFO hunters, explained that experience shows such “anomalies” are usually dust or insects flying in front of the camera lens.
“It’s a night-vision/infrared webcam, so it’s more sensitive to small light source or bugs crossing the camera lens,” he told Express. “For example dust by eruption causes the same effect. Dust near the camera lens is brighter; the furthest debris is less bright.”
Analysts say that the association of alien UFOs with volcanoes in popular UFO folklore could have roots in ancient mythical traditions that linked volcanoes with divine visitors from the skies.
Not for the first time either…this appears to be a pattern…
